Major and Minor Requirements

We offer four tracks for Government majors and minors:

• Political Science
• American Politics and Government
• Politics, Law, and the Courts
• International Affairs

Although each track has its own requirements, all majors and minors are required to complete the following introductory sequence core courses*:

• GVT 110 - Introduction to American Government
• GVT 120 - Research Methodology

*For students entering on or after September 2007

Waiver of admissions examination

Students who have graduated from an accredited college or university with a cumulative grade point average of 3.4 or above, or from Suffolk University with a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or above are not required to take the GRE or MAT when applying for admission to Suffolk’s Master of Science in Political Science (MSPS) program.
