Artwork from Professor Lydia Martin ’s Loteria series is being shown in several galleries and museums.

A painting depicting a New England School of Art & Design alumna, La Luna: Portrait of Jemima Pierre, is part of the exhibition "Portraying the Human Spirit" at the Bennington Center for the Arts in Vermont. The exhibit runs through December 21, 2014.

Martin also will show artwork from the Loteria series at the Milton Art Museum in fall 2014 and at the Whistler House Museum in July 2015.

Her painting La Muerte: Night Class, depicting two former students in her drawing class, was included in an exhibition at the Salmagundi Art Club in Gramercy Park, Manhattan, this past spring

Loteria is a popular Mexican card game based on bingo. It uses images instead of numbers and letters, and Martin’s Loteria paintings are inspired by the traditional images used in the game.
