First-year applicants for the fall semester are automatically considered for the Suffolk Honors Program when submitting an application to the Office of Undergraduate Admission.

For admission to the Honors Program, entering freshman students (both domestic and international) who are accepted to the College of Arts & Sciences and Sawyer Business School will normally meet at least two of the following criteria:
  • Academic GPA of 3.75/4.0;
  • Class rank within upper 10 percent (if class rank is available);
  • SAT scores of 1850; or
  • ACT scores of 28; and
  • TOEFL scores of 100 on the internet based exam, if applicable.

Please note that there is no separate application for the Suffolk University Honors Program. Each applicant is reviewed using all admission material submitted to the Office of Undergraduate Admission at the time he or she applies.

Deadlines and Admission Notification

All application materials (official high school transcript, senior year grades, official SAT/ACT scores (TOEFL if applicable), two recommendations, and a completed Common Application Form, Supplement and Essay, must be received in the Office of Undergraduate Admission by March 1 to be considered for this program.

Each year, the Honors Program accepts a select number of the most highly motivated and academically promising freshman applicants for admission. Candidates will be notified of program admission decisions by late March. Due to the volume of applications we receive, we can only notify those who are being offered a seat in the Honors program. If you are not selected for the program, you will not receive written correspondence.

Entering the Honors Program as a Current or Transfer Student

The program also considers admission for a limited number of existing students or transfer students that have completed one full year of study at Suffolk with a minimum 3.5 GPA during the period up to and including the second semester of their sophomore year.
