F.A.Q.

Q: How do you get to Blue Hills Bank Pavilion—and to Suffolk’s campus?

A: Here’s how to get to the pavilion and where to park once you’re there. And here’s where you’ll find Suffolk from wherever you are.

Q: Can guests with disabilities receive accommodations on Commencement Day?

A: Suffolk University is happy to provide reasonable accommodations for Commencement guests with disabilities. Please submit your request by May 11, 2018, so we can process it in time.

The information you provide on this form will be reviewed by the Office of Disability Services (ODS). ODS will contact you with specific information on how your accommodation needs will be met at the pavilion.

Q: Can guests take photos and videos of graduates during the ceremony? If so, where?

A: Guests, including personally hired photographers, are welcome to take photographs and video during the ceremony only in the designated areas. You won’t be permitted in the roped-off areas or in the aisles. Also, drones are not permitted at the pavilion.

Please note that personal photographers are not given press passes and must present a ticket in order to enter the pavilion.
Suffolk University has arranged to have a professional photographer take pictures of graduating students as they cross the stage.

  • Continental breakfast, bed linens, a pillow, and bath towels as well as Wi-Fi are included in your nightly rate.
  • Guests may stay up to three (3) nights (no stay minimum). Rooms are available starting Friday, May 18, through Monday, May 21.
  • For more information or to make a reservation, please contact the Office of Conferences and Events at 617-305-1749 or email Adam Hoeg (ahoeg@suffolk.edu).
  • Of course, you can also choose to stay in one of the many hotels in the vicinity of the Blue Hills Bank Pavilion [PDF].

Q: Is there anywhere to eat around the Blue Hills Bank Pavilion?

A: You have your pick of area restaurants [PDF]. Once you’ve decided where to go, it’s a good idea to book your table sooner than later.

Q: Is there anything to do in Boston besides attending Suffolk’s Commencement?

A: Of course! If you have the time, there’s a lot to explore. You’ll find historical and cultural landmarks near the pavilion [PDF] or just a short T ride or drive away.

Q: I still have questions! Who should I contact?

A: Please get in touch with the Dean of Students Office at 617-573-8239 or studentaffairs@suffolk.edu if you’re attending the College or Business School Commencement. If you’re attending the Law School ceremony, please contact the Law School Dean of Students Office at 617-573-8157 or LawDeanOfStudents@suffolk.edu.
