Every now and then Suffolk University Dakar chooses a student ambassador to exemplify the various facets of Suffolk as an American University in Africa. The student may change but the message is the same in terms of the mission of Suffolk University Dakar Campus.
This time we chose Cheikh Ibrahima Palla Mbaye, because he represents the true essence of what the Dakar campus is about. Here in Dakar, we take pride in the rigorous preparation we provide to students who desire to pursue their University education in American Institutions. This requires that students be prepared linguistically and master the English language, an emotionally preparation where they get to mature a little before transferring to the US or other countries, finally an academic preparation. Our small size classrooms and qualified professors make both teaching and learning a fun and personal experience. This is what guarantees the high success rate of Dakar alumni when they move on to other universities.
We are very proud that Cheikh Ibrahima Mbaye went through a quarter of these phases with such dignity; that we decided to put him on our web site as an honor of the work he did. Cheikh came from a French speaking high school and entered the Suffolk English program at the low intermediate level. Not one to give up, he worked hard in his English classes, moving up the ladder after each session with excellent grades. After a year in the English department, Cheick Ibrahima Mbaye passed his TOEFL exam and received the second highest score of his group. He has now started the Degree program majoring in a BSBA field. We at Suffolk have no doubt that Mr. Mbaye will succeed in his studies and we will accompany him all the way. He never missed a class, put in the work and effort that is required and now he is slowly seeing the results of his labor. Suffolk Dakar is proud to have Cheikh Ibrahima Palla Mbaye as a student ambassador of Suffolk University Dakar. Congratulations! We wish you continued success.
