A command of English is essential for success in U.S. universities and in today’s global economy. No other language unlocks so many doors and opens up so many possibilities. There are many ways to study English at Suffolk University Dakar. Our ELI is a comprehensive program designed to give you the essential language and academic skills required to succeed as university degree candidates. Small classes with highly qualified instructors ensure that students have the necessary attention and structure to prepare for degree-level studies.
Placement in Suffolk University undergraduate programs is based on your score on the TOEFL exam, which is used by all American universities to evaluate English competency. You may take this exam in person or over the Internet through Suffolk University. Suffolk University Suffolk University Dakar has facilities to test both over the Internet and it administers a paper-based test. To prepare for the exam, you may choose a TOEFL preparation class or customized private tutorials, both available in ELI. Highly experienced, qualified instructors lead small classes, giving you personal attention, along with exercises and practice to build your English skills.

Courses are offered in successive nine-week intensive day and evening sessions whereas the TOEFL preparation class is 45 hours long.
The ELI Department administers low-cost placement tests on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 10 am. Test is 3000 CFA and no appointment is necessary.
An initial registration fee of 5 000 CFA is required from all new students.
