Dear Students and Colleagues,

The University will observe a moment of silence at 2:50 p.m. today in remembrance of those who lost their lives in the horrible tragedy in Boston yesterday and in support of all those affected.

If you are in class, I encourage you to pause at that time. Others may want to gather in small groups as we continue to support each other.

Plans are being developed for a remembrance for the victims at 10 a.m. this Thursday, April 18, in the C. Walsh Theatre, and we will provide more details as they become available.

The Counseling Center will continue to offer support to those in need. For law students, the Counseling Center will offer a support group at 5:30 p.m. this evening. The session will take place in the faculty meeting room located within the dean's suite on the fourth floor of the Law School.

There has been an outpouring of concern and support from and among members of the University community as we come to terms with this terrible event. We will continue to be there for one another both in our day-to-day interactions and through planned campus events.

Sincerely,

James McCarthy, President
