Dear Members of the Suffolk Community,
The past 24 hours have been difficult for all of us as we endured a lockdown in campus and throughout the area, especially coming on the heels and as a result of Monday's Marathon tragedy.
I thank our students for their cooperation and patience throughout this ordeal. I also applaud our University administrators, police force and staff for working diligently to keep the campus community safe and well informed. Of particular note are the efforts of Student Affairs, Residence Life, and the Counseling Center, which performed superbly on behalf of our students.
We will resume normal operations tomorrow. Counseling services are in place, and I hope all who feel the need will take advantage of all the resources available to them.
Please continue to look out for one another, as we have been especially careful to do all this week and as is the Suffolk way. Together we will make a strong finish to this academic year.
James McCarthy, President
