A Safety Data Sheet(Formerly Material Safety Data Sheet) or SDS, is a detailed document prepared by the manufacturer written to inform you about the hazards and characteristics of the product you work with. Information included in a SDS aids in the selection of safe products, personal protective equipment and spill control measures. Under OSHA's, Right to Know Act, employers are required to have SDSs accessible at all times. Suffolk University can provide SDSs for all substances used on campus.
