A Clear, Strong Focus

Fire Procedures

In the cases of smoke and/or fire, implement the R-E-D plan:

React. Activate the nearest alarm-pull box, dial Suffolk University Police at 617-573-8111, and report the exact location of the fire. Do not hesitate to activate the alarm. Pull the box immediately upon detection of fire and/or smoke.
Evacuate. When the alarm sounds, evacuate the building immediately, report to your floor warden or supervisor at your building’s designated assembly area.
Decide. Find the safest and quickest exit route out of and away from the building. Follow directions of emergency personnel.

In the event the fire alarm system is activated and no smoke or fire is detected, follow the pre-recorded fire alarm communication message that will be activated in most University Buildings. If no message is heard, evacuate the building.
