General GuidelinesĀ

UMS provides equipment and services in support of classes, meetings and events on the Boston campus. The team is well equipped and can handle most needs without engaging additional resources. However, if additional resources that are not available on campus are needed, the UMS team will assist in gathering competent and competitive proposals from local providers to help your group with the procurement of these services.

All requests should be made with advanced notice. (Typically 2 weeks notice.) If your event will require more complex support (significant equipment needs, staffing or an unusual site), please reach out to the UMS team at the earliest possible time.

Unfortunately, UMS staff does not deploy equipment at off-campus events. However, we can certainly assist you in contracting for these services with the event host or a local third party provider.

Some portable equipment is available for use by members of the community. Users who borrow equipment for University classes or events are responsible for the security of media equipment, as well as any damage that occurs while equipment is in their care. All borrowed equipment must returned to the Media Center at or before the agreed upon return time. This is critical as others may be depending on the availability of that equipment for their event or class. Failure to return equipment as agreed upon may result in loss of borrowing privileges.
