The Payroll Office allows you to access, update, and manage your own personal information on the Web using Employee Self Service (ESS). Below is only a partial list of what you can do with ESS:

  • Access University directory information, a library of forms, and a message center
  • View your accrued personal, vacation, and sick time (if applicable)
  • Reference your pay statements, manage your direct deposit, and make changes to your tax withholding
  • Manage your home and mailing addresses, phone number(s), and emergency contact information
  • Review your benefit options as a Suffolk University employee
Logging in to the system is simple. If you previously used ADP iPay with Suffolk, you're already registered for ESS. Simply enter your ADP user ID and password, and click OK.

First-time users

If you would like to sign up for ESS, visit the portal and follow these instructions:

  • Select First Time Users Register Here
  • Select the ‘register now’ option
  • Your registration pass code is Suffolk-iPay
  • Identity Verification: Employee ID #, mm/dd of birth
  • Enter your contact information
  • Enter your security information
  • View your user ID and create your password

System requirements

We recommend you use Internet Explorer (version 5.5 or newer). The following operating systems are also suitable for use with ESS:

  • Firefox (3.x) Mac OS (10.4.11, “Tiger” and 10.5,“Leopard”)
  • Safari (3.04) with Mac OS (10.4.11, “Tiger” and 10.5, “Leopard”)
  • Safari (4.04) with Mac OS (10.5, “Leopard”)
ESS is also certified for Adobe® Reader® Version 9.
