We wish all of Suffolk’s friends and supporters could see what is actually in the envelope when they send in a contribution each fall. The envelope does not simply contain a piece of paper or a check. Rather, inside every envelope is something that makes a difference each day at Suffolk University—whether it’s a subscription to a business journal, replacement uniforms for the women’s softball team, a critical piece of lab equipment or travel expenses for a law competition team.

Suffolk cannot possibly plan for all the exciting possibilities that arise when we put thousands of eager students in a vital position to learn, accomplish, and compete. Inevitably, need arises. And the Annual Fund allows us to direct important discretionary funds where they are needed, when they are needed. Although the Annual Fund is sometimes thought to support relatively minor expenditures, its role at the University is anything but trivial—and it’s why we have made the Annual Fund one of the cornerstones of our capital campaign.

Thousands of small needs add up to a big burden. Thankfully, each year that burden is made light by the many hands that reach out to support it. Annual support at any level enables Suffolk to respond to unpredicted but critical expenses and truly makes a difference for our students and faculty every single day.
