LAW Advanced Legal Writing: International Advocacy

In this class, students will have the opportunity to develop advocacy skills in the context of international law. The course is designed to expose U.S. students to international law by researching, analyzing and writing about a problem involving international or foreign law. The class will be interactive, involving writing and editing exercises, group work, and discussion. Writing assignments will be varied, including shorter assignments and a longer brief or its equivalent that satisfies the upper level writing requirement. Students will receive extensive feedback on drafts of writing assignments, both in writing and in individual conferences. Class participation will be a graded component of the class. There are no prerequisites.
