Elizabeth (Betsy) Armour has a national reputation in law school career services and the recruitment of lawyers. Since 2008 she has served as Suffolk Law's Director of Employer Relations cultivating opportunities and relationships with private employers and alumni on a regional and national basis on behalf of the Law School. Prior to SULS, she was Director of the Career Development Office at Boston University School of Law from 1992-2004. On the employer side, Betsy worked as Director of Legal Recruiting for Edwards Angell Palmer & Dodge (now Edwards Wildman Palmer) based in Providence, RI; as Director of Legal Recruiting at Foley Hoag in Boston; Personnel Manager at Goldstein & Manello in Boston; a consultant with the legal consulting firm of Magness & Wehmann in NYC; and, started her career as Coordinator of Recruitment Programs at Mudge Rose Guthrie Alexander & Ferdon in NYC. Betsy was President of the National Association for Law Placement (NALP), twice served as a member of NALP’s Board of Directors, chaired and served on numerous national committees on various facets of the legal industry, and is a frequent speaker at NALP and other legal industry-related conferences. She is a former Executive Committee member of the Student Services Section of the Association of American Law Schools and served as President of the Association of Boston Legal Recruitment Administrators (now MALRA). Betsy holds an A.B. in Italian Language and Literature from Smith College, and is an avid sailor, motorcycle rider, and Italofile.
