A legacy, continued
Suffolk University Law School has created the Monroe Inker Memorial Fund to provide scholarships for attending Advanced Legal Studies (ALS) family law, guardianship, and juvenile justice programs.
A graduate of Harvard Law School, Monroe Inker taught courses at Harvard and Boston College before joining the Suffolk Law School adjunct faculty. Professor Inker was one of the first ALS faculty members, and participated in many ALS programs since 1982.
For many years, he sponsored an annual family law essay contest at Suffolk to create interest in scholarship affecting the family. His legacy lives on in a 4-volume series, Massachusetts Practice Book on Family Law, co-authored with Suffolk Law Professor Charles Kindregan; an annual paperback edition on Domestic Relation Rules; and numerous articles.
Now, contributions to the fund can help continue his legacy. The scholarships help provide educational opportunities for:
- Recent law graduates
- Public interest lawyers
- Legal services lawyers
- Government lawyers
