First Year Foundation Studies
Take the first step.
Regardless of major the Foundation studies program is designed to equip you with the fundamentals of visual thinking and communication. Most Foundation classes are small. You’ll get an uncommon degree of personal attention from your instructor, and a sense of bonding with your fellow students that will last throughout your studies.
In the Foundation studies program, you are going to:
Develop Chops. You will learn a lot about tools and materials and how to use them.
Own the Problem. This means to really engage with your assignments in a personal way, and keep trying even if it doesn't go well at first.
Become a Visionary. You'll get good at having a mental picture of what you want to do.
Communicate. Express your idea and feelings and the meaning behind the work.
Observe. See things in more depth and detail than ever before.
Question, Explain and Evaluate. Think and talk intelligently about your own work and that of fellow students.
Explore. Go beyond the boundaries of what you had thought was possible.
Take Your Place as a member of the contemporary art and design community. Right here in Boston!
