Master of Arts in Graphic Design

Curriculum

The curriculum for the Master of Art in Graphic Design ranges from 10-31 courses (30-96 credits). Where you start in the curriculum depends upon your academic and professional background, which is assessed during the admission process.

If you do not have and undergraduate degree in a visual arts discipline you will, in most cases, be required to begin your studies at the Foundation Preparatory Course level (courses coded at 500 and above).

If you have an undergraduate degree in the visual arts (other than graphic design) you can often be exempted from the Foundation Preparatory Coursework and will most likely begin your studies at the Graphic Design Preparatory Course level (courses coded at 600 and above).

If you have a BFA in Graphic Design, you will most likely be exempted from both the Foundation and Foundational Graphic Design Preparatory Coursework, and you can begin your studies at the Graphic Design Graduate Course level (courses coded at 700 and above).
