Pre-Graduate Summer Program

Summer 2012 Program Overview

The Pre-Graduate Summer Program is a 10-week intensive program designed to prepare you for fall admission to the Master of Arts in Interior Design or Master of Arts in Graphic Design at the School of Art & Design at Suffolk University. This program is designed for those interested in pursuing a Master of Arts in Interior Design or Graphic Design, but who don't have a visual arts background or the portfolio required to apply.

You'll take courses in the following areas: Drawing, Color & 2-Dimensional, 3-Dimensional Design and Perspective & Rendering (Interior Design) or Imaging (Graphic Design) in preparation for graduate school. By successfully completing the program, you'll have your first semester foundational art courses behind you and you will be admitted into the School of Art & Design's Master of Arts in Interior Design or Graphic Design program for the fall. Pre-Graduate Student Profiles

Some of the strongest candidates in our graduate programs are career changers, many of whom had no formal training in art and design design before coming to Suffolk. Learn more about how the Pre-Graduate Summer Program launched the design careers of two of our former students, Klaudia and Aaliah.

Aaliah knew there was a demand for graphic designers in Saudi Arabia, but there were no programs in her country. If she wanted the training, studying abroad was the only option. When she came to Suffolk, she knew life would be different, but she wasn't expecting to feel so at home, despite being so far away. Read more about Aaliah's experience.

Klaudia mapped out a strategy for becoming an interior designer. She did her research, found Suffolk's CDA-accredited program, left her banking job and was ready to move back to Massachusetts. Her last step was to expedite her preperation for grad school. Learn more about how Pre-Grad helped Klaudia reach her goal.
