Student Video Profile
Mai Nguyen, Master of Arts in Interior Design, 2007
Mai Nguyen graduated from Suffolk University in 2007 with a Master of Arts in Interior Design. She currently works as an interior designer for Bergmeyer Associates in Boston, Massachusetts. Through her Master’s coursework, Mai developed a focus for what would later become the culmination of her graduate studies, her thesis project. She began with the idea that, "small aesthetic changes and cultural influence in struggling urban environments can be the catalyst for change and renewal." After extensive exploration of this topic during her Thesis Research course, Mai implemented her thesis concept in an urban design project titled, "The Studios at Hotel Dartmouth". To assist her with her thesis, Mai collaborated with team advisors who reviewed her work and assessed her progress on each phase of the project from concept to final product.
Mai’s Thesis Team:
- Karen Clarke, Associate Professor & Interior Design Program Co-Director
- Sean Stewart, adjunct faculty member and architect
- Inga Leonova, architect, Tsoi Kobus Architects
