Study Abroad
Suffolk University offers many opportunities for students to study abroad as part of their college experience, including programs held at the University’s campuses in Madrid, Spain and Dakar, Senegal. The University’s Study Abroad Office is an extensive resource for learning about international study opportunities. Among the many study abroad options are the two summer programs that are listed below, which are geared for School of Art & Design majors. Graphic Design: Illustration & Art History Program
Location: Florence, Venice & Rome, Italy
This six-week summer program is open to Graphic Design MA and BFA candidates at Suffolk University. The program consists of outdoor studio painting and drawing, lectures on Renaissance art history and culture and fieldtrips to museums, churches and monuments. Interior Design: Studio & Art History Program
Location: Florence, Italy
This five-week summer program is open to Interior Design MA and BFA candidates at Suffolk University. In this program, students will be exposed to international design trends and European traditions of art, architecture and culture through in-class instruction and visits to local design studios and showrooms. Students will study Italian art and architectural theories and apply European problem-solving skills in the studio environment. Information for 2010 programming is not yet available. Additional Information on Studying Abroad
The Study Abroad Office has developed a series of pages to help prepare students to live and study oversees. The staff in this office is trained to answer questions about travel, housing, health and safety, academics and discuss the adjustments students often face while living in a different culture.
