The Men’s Tennis team earned two awards from the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) after beginning the 2011 season with a 9-0 victory over Norwich University on March 26.
Junior Chris Staley, a winner in both singles and doubles play on Saturday, was named GNAC Player of the Week. Staley preserved a shutout for the Rams, winning a 7-6 tiebreaker in the number two singles position. He also a winner in the top doubles match with his partner Sean Cullen.
Freshman Hubert Cromback was named GNAC Rookie of the Week. Cromback won his match in the number four singles position, 6-2, 6-3 and then partnered with senior John Samander for an 8-0 victory in the second doubles match.
