The Ford Hall Forum at Suffolk University presents former Providence Mayor Vincent A. "Buddy" Cianci, Jr., discussing “Politics and Pasta,” which also is the title of his recently released memoir.
Ford Hall Forum Board member Dominick Ianno, serving as moderator the forum, will draw outrageous anecdotes from the always-entertaining Cianci.
The forum will take place from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 19, 2011, at the C. Walsh Theatre, 55 Temple St., Boston.
Cianci served as the mayor of Providence for an unprecedented 21 years. He was a champion of inner-city revitalization who turned Providence into “the Renaissance City” and an example of sustainable urban renewal.
However, his tenure was marred with controversy, leading to a forced resignation and conviction.
Today Cianci hosts a daily radio talk show on 630 WPRO AM and 99.7 FM, as well as his own daily “Buddy TV” segment on ABC-6 in Rhode Island. Some speculate he may consider yet another run for mayor.
A book signing will follow the presentation.
