Suffolk University extends heartfelt sympathy to the family of former Boston Mayor Thomas M. Menino, who passed away on Oct. 30, 2014.
Mayor Menino leaves behind a city that prospered under his leadership for two decades. Every action he took was meant for the good of the people, whether it was bolstering the downtown commercial district, asking universities to house more students in campus residence halls, or speaking out against discrimination and bringing people together.
Suffolk University also grew and prospered with Mayor Menino’s encouragement and support and is proud to have helped prepare a generation of Menino scholars to carry on the late mayor’s legacy through a scholarship in his name. We hope that they and all who choose a career in service to the people emulate the brilliant example set by Mayor Thomas Menino.
