Suffolk student athletes are making an impression as the 2016 fall collegiate sports season begins.
Sophomore keeper Kyle Van Cleef of the men’s soccer team was named Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Corvias Goalie of the Week following a standout performance in the Rams’ league opener, a 1-0 road victory over Albertus Magnus. His four stops triggered not only his first win of the year, but also his first shutout. More
On the court, women’s tennis standout Valentina Medina began the year in top form and was recognized as the GNAC Corvias Player of the Week after capturing four wins during a two-match week. The talented junior is the only member of the team undefeated this season. More
In her first collegiate race, freshman Emily Manfra stepped up for the women’s cross-country team and received GNAC Corvias Rookie of the Week honors. She was the first runner for the blue-and-gold through the 5K race and paced the Rams’ squad to a sixth-place finish in a field of 14 teams. More
