Despite the weather, there was a game played at Fenway Park during the first week of January.

And it involved the Suffolk men’s hockey team, not the Boston Red Sox.

The Rams hockey squad experienced a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity when it took the ice at the legendary ballpark as part of the Capital One Frozen Fenway 2017, a two-week series of hockey and ice skating events.

The Rams’ one-hour skate at the home of the Red Sox featured a fast-paced White vs. Blue scrimmage. At the end of the action-packed hour, the White team prevailed, 8-6, and winning goalie Kevin Venturoso, a senior, was named Player of the Game.

“Today was a great day to be a Ram,” said head coach Chris Glionna. “It was amazing to play at such a historic venue. Both teams competed very hard.”
