Undergraduate Credit Requirement

All Undergraduate Bachelor degree-seeking students must successfully complete a minimum of 122-126 credits to graduate (depending on the year you entered) and complete all the academic requirements associated with your particular degree. A minimum of 62-64 credits is required for an Associate degree (depending on the year you entered) along with all the academic requirements for the degree.

Undergraduate GPA Requirement

Undergraduate students must achieve a cumulative, major, and minor (if applicable) grade point average (GPA) of 2.0 or higher to graduate. If you have not earned a 2.0 or higher, you will not be eligible to receive your degree nor will you be eligible to participate in commencement.

Undergraduate Graduation Honors: College of Arts and Sciences

To be eligible to graduate with Cum Laude, Magna Cum Laude, and Summa Cum Laude, an undergraduate student must have completed at least 60 semester hours of work at Suffolk University.

Cum Laude: You must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.3, and must have no more than one grade of F or I.

Magna Cum Laude: You must have a cumulative GPA of 3.7, and must have no grades of F or I.

Summa Cum Laude: You must have a cumulative GPA of 3.85, and must have no grades of F or I.

Graduation honors will be announced on stage, included in the Commencement program, and printed on your diploma.

Graduation Honors, Transfer Students

For students who entered Fall 2004 through Spring 2009:

• Distinction: For transfer students who have completed 39-59 semester hours of Suffolk University courses, have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.3 and have no more than one grade of F or I.
• High Distinction: For transfer students who have completed 39-59 semester hours of Suffolk University courses, have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.7, and have no grades of F or I.
• Highest Distinction: For transfer students have completed 39-59 semester hours of Suffolk University courses, have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.85, and have no grades of F or I.

For students entering Fall 2009 and later:

• Distinction: For transfer students who have completed 45-59 semester hours of Suffolk University courses, have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.3 and have no more than one grade of F or I.
• High Distinction: For transfer students who have completed 45-59 semester hours of Suffolk University courses, have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.7, and have no grades of F or I.
• Highest Distinction: For transfer students have completed 45-59 semester hours of Suffolk University courses, have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.85, and have no grades of F or I.

Undergraduate Graduation Honors: Sawyer Business School

To be eligible to graduate with Cum Laude, Magna Cum Laude, and Summa Cum Laude, a student must have completed at least 60 semester hours of work at Suffolk University.

For students who entered prior to Fall 2007:
