Can I use Ruckus on my Mac?

Ruckus requires Windows Media Player Version 11 or above to operate.  The latest version of WMP supported by Microsoft for the Mac Operating System is  Version 9, so you will need to run Windows on your Mac in order to download later versions, which will allow you to use Ruckus on your Mac.

Can I play downloads from Ruckus on my iPod?

No, iPods do not currently support the PlaysForSure standard required by Ruckus.

The Ruckus music library contains more than 3 million tracks from a wide variety of  genres, made possible through the company’s licensing agreements with all of the
major international record labels as well as thousands of independent labels and artists, and Ruckus is continually adding the latest releases.

I’m getting a server error when I try to download and install Ruckus Player. What does this mean?

This error usually indicates that you are using an older version of Windows Media Player than Ruckus requires.  Make sure your Windows Media Player is updated to the latest version and try downloading again.

Aren’t download sites like this blocked from the Suffolk network?

Can I continue to use Ruckus after I graduate?

Ruckus will ask you for a small monthly fee in order to keep using its service. After a short time, the licenses for the downloads you obtained while a student will expire, and you will not be able to access them if you do not sign up for continuing service.

Can faculty and staff use Ruckus?

Yes. Ruckus charges a monthly fee for non-students, but if you are a student as well as faculty or staff, Ruckus invites you to register for free membership as a student when you sign up.
