Eco-Reps

Freshmen & Sophomores

These students live in residence halls and serve as environmental peer educators.  They lead events and promote environmentally responsible living.  They serve as a resource, while helping build a sense of community and connecting students with volunteer opportunities.

Eco-Reps serve as campus sustainability liaisons within the residence halls.  They play a key role in fostering environmentally responsible practices among residents.  They provide positive reinforcement in areas such as waste reduction and recycling and energy and water conservation.  We strive for a visible program that raises awareness and helps influence daily practices.  Not only do they help people reduce their environmental impact, they also help save money for the University by contributing to waste reduction efforts.

For 2011-12 we are seeking one student per residence hall.  Students are paid via the Work Study program.  They must have eligibility and a financial award for the given semester.  We are currently seeking applicants for the 2011/12 school year.  To find out more, contact recycle@suffolk.edu.
