Organizations such as the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) and the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) use automated technology to identify and stop piracy and copyright infringement.
In its role as an Internet Service Provider (ISP), University is required by law to act on any infringement notice from these and similar organizations.
If the University is notified by one of these organizations that an infringement has occurred on the university network, the University will locate the offending machine and, when possible the user of the machine.
Suffolk University does not monitor your Internet connection for file sharing violations, and complaints do not originate from the University.
