Veterans Upward Bound is a Federally-funded TRiO Program, with certain eligibility criteria.
In order to qualify, applicants must:
a) be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
b) if Active Duty, have served over 180 days or have been discharged with a service-connected disability
c) if Reserve Component, have served over 30 days on active duty or have served on active duty as part of a contingency operation on or after September 11, 2001
d) have a military discharge other than ‘dishonorable,’
e) not have previously attained a Bachelors degree
and
f) have a demonstrated academic need
Applicants must also meet one of the following criteria*:
a) be a potential first-generation college graduate
b) meet income guidelines for the program
or
c) be considered an 'at risk' student

Although applicants may be eligible for the program, eligibility does not guarantee admission.
Applicants are also evaluated based on the following criteria:
a) Having a commitment to pursuing post-secondary education
b) Being prepared to enroll in an approved undergraduate program by the fall following completion of the Veterans Upward Bound program, and
c) Having a commitment to participate in Veterans Upward Bound classes, seminars, workshops, and activities
An interview will be scheduled after we receive your application materials to determine whether you meet program requirements. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis.
