The Educational Consultants’ (EC) job is to assist a client with addressing the issues affecting the quality of his/her academic life. As part of this service, the Educational Consultant begins the process for students to be assigned a tutor based on the content area in which the client needs assistance and the area of expertise of the tutor. The Educational Consultant then monitors the tutor-client relationship to ensure that their client is receiving what he needs from the tutoring relationship and to determine when or if their client requires additional assistance.
back to top^The initial meeting lasts an hour, in which the client and the Educational Consultant will assess the client’s academic strengths and weaknesses, learning styles, and study techniques. Academic goals will be discussed, as well as how the Learning Center services can benefit the client. The EC will make the appropriate referrals to the client, recommending courses, tutors and/or study groups, if appropriate.
