• Check Requests

A Check Request should be used to pay individuals, and used when no invoice will be issued. The check request creates the invoice.

How to use a Check Request

  • Fill out the check request completely.
    • Be sure to put a check-mark in the "Mail" or "Hold" block.
    • Obtain all proper signatures.
  • Attach all original receipts for reimbursements. Be sure to keep copies for your files.
  • Attach the original copy of any form that is to be mailed out with checks. If the check is to be picked up and mailed out by you, attach a copy of the form to the check requests.
  • Due to the volume of checks being requested and the lengthy check preparation process itself, only those check requests that are received in the Business Office by 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday will be processed and available for pick up on Friday at noon. During holidays weeks, check with the Business Office for special schedule.

Please wait until after noon on Fridays to inquire if a check is ready. We cannot respond to inquiries before this time as checks are still being prepared.

Please Note: Requests for $15.00 and under are handled as petty cash by Student Accounts (Donahue 3rd Floor). Checks will not be sent through interoffice mail. Social Security numbers and addresses are necessary in all cases.
