When a request for services is received, your request will be assigned to the appropriate individual(s). An assessment of the requested service is then performed to determine the scope of the work involved. The start date of the work depends largely on the present work load of the unit that will be completing the service request. Some requests for services may require the purchase of equipment and materials in order to complete the work, which could impact the timeline of the project depending on anticipated availability and delivery dates. For additional information on a request for service in process, please contact Facilities Management Operations at 617.573.8110.
We require work requests for several reasons. First, the request ensures that we will have all the accurate information needed to perform the request. This includes the exact locations; times etc., correct contact persons and other pertinent information. Additionally, work requests allow us to track clearly the volume of requests and properly prioritize and assign projects. Finally, a work request allows us to monitor carefully requests which require budgetary authorization and/or contribution by individual departments and schools.
Always report any problem to the Facilities Management Operations line at 617.573.8110. Often a perceived problem is simply a miscommunication between the user and our operations staff.
Lockers are available through the Facilities Management Office Monday through Friday from 10:00am- 1:00pm. Simply come to the office with a valid Suffolk University ID. You will then receive your locker assignment. Special requests for certain buildings or areas are on a first-come, first-served basis. Lockers are available for the duration of the Fall and Spring Semesters. Immediately following the Spring semester, all lockers must be completely cleaned out. Any articles left in your locker after the cleanout date will be discarded. Lockers are reissued for the academic year beginning September 1 of each year.
Janitorial services (e.g. cleaning, trash removal, etc.) at Suffolk University are provided by an outside vendor who has manager’s onsite. These contracted services are monitored by the Facilities Management Department. These services are performed in our buildings year round. If you would like to request additional services, complete a work request form and we will arrange for the appropriate response.
