Campus Mail Services would like to inform you that effective May 14th 2007, all United States Postal Service rates and fees will increase. Below you will find a small chart detailing the United States Postal Service rate increase.   The same information can be obtained by visiting our website at http://www.suffolk.edu/offices/1136.html.    You will also find a link on the page to directly access the USPS rate/fee information via http://www.usps.com/ .  All departments should expect to see an increase in their monthly postage statements starting in the month of May.  This also includes the library and non-profit rates.  If you have any questions please call or email us at mailservices@suffolk.edu.

Presorted Mail is a First Class service.  It should not be confused with Bulk Mail.  In fact, the level of service is superior to First Class, because the time consuming processes of sorting and barcoding are done prior to depositing the mail.  this is an industry standard and is an excellent way to reduce cost.  Institutions that do not participate are not taking advantage of economics of scale.  Contrary to what one might believe, this type of mail is never held.
