Run through this check list before you register. You will be able to avoid frustrating delays by following these hints.
- Be sure to meet with your advisor to plan your courses for the semester.
- If your major requires advisor approval prior to registration, be sure to check that the approval code has been entered for you. Prior to registration, the Registrar’s office will notify students who do not have the approved faculty advisor signature. Be sure to check your Suffolk University email account regularly.
- Have you checked SAIL to ensure your course is open?
- Have you completed the appropriate prerequisites for the course? Prerequisite courses cannot be taken concurrently.
- If you are a non-degree graduate student, have you met the maximum number of 6 enrolled credits? If so, you are not eligible to register for additional credits until you are accepted into a degree program. MBA courses are not open to non-degree students unless you are accepted as a MAPS student through the Sawyer Business School MBA Programs Office. Please contact Loren Doucette at ldoucett@suffolk.edu.
- Are you registering for the first time at the University? All undergraduate degree students must register during walk-in registration/orientation prior to the beginning of the term.
- Have you checked your Assigned Registration Time through your SAIL Students account to find out when you are eligible for registration?
- Do you have any holds that may prevent you from registering? Check your Suffolk University email account for any emails that may have been sent regarding current registration holds.
- Do you need any special permission to register for a course? If so, you must submit a signed registration or add form.
- Are you registering for any courses that overlap? If so, you must submit a faculty signed registration or add/drop form.
