• Maryellen Weimer

Dr. Maryellen Weimer became a Pennsylvania State University professor emeritus of teaching and learning in 2007. She previously taught speech communication there from 1981 to 1991 and served as the director of the university’s Instructional Development Program. Before retiring, she won Penn State’s Milton S. Eisenhower Award for distinguished teaching.

Prior to rejoining the Penn State faculty, Dr. Weimer was the associate director of the National Center on Postsecondary Teaching, Learning, and Assessment.

The edtor of "The Teaching Professor" a monthly newsletter on college teaching, Dr. Weimer has edited or authored eight books, along with numerous journal articles and book reviews. Her books include Learner-Centered Teaching: Five Key Changes to Practice, Enhancing Scholarly Work on Teaching and Learning, and her upcoming project, tentatively titled Teaching Excellence: A Career-Long Companion for College Faculty and scheduled for publication in 2009.
