Amy Agigian, PhD, is Associate Professor of Sociology at Suffolk University, where she also directs the new Master of Arts in Women’s Health. Trained in medical sociology and the sociology of women, gender, and sexuality, she received her Ph.D. from Brandeis University in 1998. She is a long-time activist and the mother of a young son. Her book Baby Steps: How Lesbian Alternative Insemination is Changing the World was published by Wesleyan University Press in May 2004.
