Retrieving Information Found in the Sawyer Library's Online Catalog, page 5 of 5
This last, basic part of the screen provides three information points (underlined in red) to help you locate the book:
- the first is "LOCATION." The green, rectangular box tells the user the item is in the Sawyer Library.
- the second is "CALL #," the call number for the item. Items in the Suffolk University libraries are arranged on the shelf by the Library of Congress (LC) classification system. Use the wall charts in the Sawyer Library to determine on which floor the book(s) you are looking for are shelved.
- Please note that the call number is also a link; clicking on the call number provides the user with the ten titles and call numbers surrounding the book. This helps you to determine whether or not this is a good area to browse for additional sources concerning your topic.
- the last point is "STATUS." "CHECK SHELF" informs the user the book is supposed to be in; if the book is checked out to another person, a date indicating when the book is due back would be displayed.
