Retrieving Information From the Web
Retrieving information from the "free" Web depends upon:
- the capabilities of the Web browser used (Microsoft Internet Explorer, Safari, etc.)
- the Web directory or Web search engine used
- the willingness of the Web site owner to allow or enable a user to view and retrieve information from their site
Most Web sites enable the visitor to read the information via the screen, print it, save the Web page as a file using the browser's "save file" capability and "copy" parts of the page to a text editor. Sites may also enable users to e-mail a Web page's content to their e-mail account.
Regardless of the information retrieval capabilities of your browser or the Web site visited, please respect the intellectual property rights of the Web site author and/or owner. Furthermore, be aware that not all information on the Web is accurate, reputable or valid. Use the information from the "free" Web cautiously.
