Oral Arguments Before the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court
Suffolk University Law School, in cooperation with the Supreme Judicial
Court of Massachusetts, maintains this site in order to make oral
arguments before the Supreme Judicial Court accessible to the general
public and the legal community. Webcasts of Supreme Judicial Court
oral arguments at the John Adams Courthouse are available live while
the cases are being argued and may also be viewed at a later time through
the Suffolk Law School's archives. Please see below for more information.
Webcasts
If you are interested in watching an argument on the web, please
note the date of the case scheduled for argument listed below and
select "View webcast" on that date. The order of arguments,
as listed below, may change if circumstances dictate. You may also
view a summary of each case prior to viewing the webcast by selecting "Case
Summaries."
Archives
Webcasts will also be archived so that after
each argument, web site visitors will be able to view all arguments
which have already
occurred. The arguments can be searched by date, case title or
by docket number, and will be accessible within four days of the
court proceedings. To view arguments which have been previously
archived,

visit the SJC Oral Argument Webcasts Archives page, or simply
point your mouse on the "View Archives" button located at
the right.

This webcast is best viewed on PCs with: Windows 2000 or newer

Oral
arguments generally take one half hour per case (15 minutes per side),
except in first degree murder cases, which generally take 40 minutes
(20 minutes per side). Court begins promptly at 9:00am. The Justices
may take a brief recess mid-morning, lasting approximately 10 minutes. View
