The summaries of cases for oral argument were prepared by Marc G. Perlin, Professor of Law at Suffolk University Law School. Campatelli v. Carey
Register of Probate-- Whether the Chief Justice of the Trial Court, the Court Administrator of the Trial Court, and the Chief Justice of the Probate and Family Court have the authority to place an elected Register of Probate on paid administrative leave pending an investigation.


Bower v. Bournay-Bower
Domestic Relations-- Whether a judge of the Probate and Family Court may appoint a parenting coordinator to enter binding rulings involving disputes between the parties regarding custody and visitation unless a party obtains from the court a contrary ruling prior to the effective date of the rulings.


Commonwealth v. Holmes
Sentencing-- The defendant, convicted of firearm charges, is seeking credit for prior incarceration on an unrelated conviction that was subsequently vacated.


Commonwealth v. St. Hilaire
  (Reserve Case)
Criminal-- Where the defendant was convicted of larceny, whether the victim had capacity to deed her property to the defendant.
