We are a student-centered department. Students write, direct, and design their own original plays and intern with leading theatre companies, both at Suffolk’s Modern Theatre and with organizations throughout the United States. Students work in classic, musical, and experimental genres with a special focus on new work.
Our broad-based liberal arts degree provides a solid foundation in the theatre and an education for life. The personally tailored, flexible theatre curriculum is filled with rich interdisciplinary possibilities that can adapt your education to who you are and what you want to become. At Suffolk, you can change your mind as you grow.
Direct mentorship with faculty helps our students confidently move into the world as practitioners in the performing arts and many other professions. Theatre students innovate, create, build, and lead.
