The extraordinary story of ordinary lives, Ned Rorem’s Our Town is an intimate and touching look into everyday life and a gentle reminder to truly experience every day. Presented in the historic Modern Theatre, Boston Opera Collaborative’s Our Town explores the universality of being human, the finality of death, and the necessity of companionship.
The world of Grover’s Corners comes to life through Rorem’s sparse yet poignant score, set to this quintessential American story. And, for the first time since it’s composition, the role of the Stage Manager will be sung by a soprano!
Small town or big city, Our Town reaches the core of what it means to be human, and how our most precious possessions are always the most “unimportant” ones. Join us as we lift the curtain on our final opera of the season and experience just how magical daily life can be.
