Course Load Summary

When it comes to course registration, it's important to know your status. Here's how many credits you'll need as a full-time (or part-time or half-time) Suffolk University graduate student.

SBS Students

Fall & Spring Semester Full-Time
You must be registered for at least 12 credits to be considered full-time. You're allowed a maximum of 15 credits.

Fall & Spring Semester Three-Quarter Time
between 9-11 credits per semester

Fall & Spring Semester Part-Time
between 6-9 credit per semester

Summer Sessions
SBS graduate students (except online MBA students*) may take a maximum of 12 credits during an entire summer but may not exceed 7.5 credits in any one or combination of the following sets of summer modules: Modules A, 1, and 3; or Modules A, 2, and 3.

*Online MBA graduate students may take a maximum of 12 credits during an entire summer but may not exceed six credits in any one or combination of the following sets of summer modules: Modules A, 1, and 3; or Modules A, 2, and 3.

CAS Students

Fall & Spring Semester Full-Time
Full-time status is defined as 12 credits.

Fall & Spring Semester Three-Quarter Time
between 9-11 credits per semester

Fall & Spring Semester Part-Time:
between 6-9 credit per semester

Fall & Spring Less than Half-Time
fewer than 6 credits
