As a part of their exploration of the different stages in urban development the students in the course Madrid a Cosmopolitan City had the opportunity to enjoy the bird's eye view from the top of one of the most iconic buildings in the city: the Palacio de Cibeles. The unique views of the different areas of the city allowed Prof. Lourdes Fernández Bencosme to explain how the city has grown throughout the centuries to become the big metropolis it is now. The visit became a truly cosmopolitan experience when one of the students of Albanian origin and her visiting mother struck up a conversation with people from their homeland speaking in their mother tongue.
