Dr. Michael Behnam’s research spans Strategy, International Business, and Business Ethics. He has published extensively in outlets such as Academy of Management Journal (AMJ), Journal of International Management, Journal of Management Inquiry, Journal of Business Ethics, Business Ethics Quarterly, or Business and Society and his work has been cited over 1,200 times (Google Scholar). He was the Co-Director of the research project “Ethical Conflicts of Multinational Companies” which was sponsored by the Humboldt-Foundation with a $100,000 grant. He is the author/ co-author of several book chapters and of three books, including the 8th edition of a textbook on Strategic Management (in German). Dr. Behnam has presented his research and was an invited keynote speaker in Europe, North America, South America, and Africa. He has consulted and provided executive education to world-renowned organizations like Andersen Consulting, BMW, Bose, DG Bank, IBM, or Siemens among others. At Suffolk he primarily teaches Strategy and IB, most notably the Graduate Travel Seminar to Germany where he pioneered an experiential education approach with full-day live case studies at firms like Adidas, BMW, Lufthansa, McKinsey, or VW among others. Prior to coming to Suffolk, Dr. Behnam was the Chair of the International Management Department at EBS University in Germany. He is also the co-founder of a specialized consulting firm and worked in investment banking prior to academia.
