The Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) is a not-for-profit organization located just across the Charles River in Cambridge, MA with a preeminent role worldwide in healthcare systems improvement and innovation. The Suffolk Chapter of IHI will have the opportunity to tap into IHI’s renowned knowledge base, connect with visionaries across the field, and become active participants in the movement to transform healthcare delivery.
The Chapter’s guiding principles are to advance the quality/patient safety agenda and grow the professional competencies of its members. The Chapter will be comprised of students, faculty, alumni and professionals from across the healthcare industry who are committed to advancing the quality of medical care. We hope our diversity and collective energy can propel the group to become a permanent fixture in the Boston healthcare community.
The Chapter aims to explore a specific quality theme each semester by a mix of independent studies and courses through a tuition-free membership to the IHI Open School and also connect to the field through guest lectures, site visits, external events, and community projects
