Laura has worked extensively as an actress for over 20 years, where she has had the opportunity to focus mainly on new work. She has originated two roles for playwright, Theresa Rebeck in her plays Mauritius and The Nest, as well as originating 12 others for their World Premiere productions. She has also participated in the development of new plays with The Lark, New Dramatists, Theatre Masters, Women’s Project & Productions, Playwright’s Collective, Huntington Theatre and the Denver Center’s New Play Summit, working with the likes of Itamar Moses, Wendy MacLeod, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Wesley Savick, Amanda Peet, and Theresa Rebeck among others. Off-Broadway she appeared in the NY Premiere of John Kolvenbach’s Love Song, directed by the playwright, and has appeared in numerous Boston Premiere productions. Laura teaches Acting, Voice & Movement and Audition Technique at Suffolk University. She has been awarded the Elliot Norton Outstanding Actress Award, and her performance in Donald Margulies’ Time Stands Still was singled out by the Improper Bostonian as best female performance of 2012. Laura received her MFA from Brandeis University, BFA from Concordia University, and also completed a three year intensive acting program at John Abbott College.
