Hardware Support

ITS supports all University Computing Equipment including PCs and University-provided peripherals (e.g. printers, scanners, PDAs), and access to the University network.

Each Faculty and staff member will be provided with a single computer for their office or workspace. ITS has selected standard models suitable for most users. Users with different computing needs, ie: research needs or teaching needs, may request a non-standard model. A decision to provide a non-standard system will be based upon a demonstrated need, school/department approval and available funding.

Loaner laptops are available upon request for Suffolk University Faculty and Staff members only. In order to request a loaner laptop, please call or email the Service Desk at least 24 hours in advanced for availability. For security purposes, loaner laptops are encrypted with PGP and a single user must be enrolled in the account. If a loaner laptop is requested, the user will need to stop by the Service Desk for enrollment in PGP.  At this time we do not provide long-term equipment loans to adjunct faculty.

The Service Desk does not support hardware issues on non-University machines.
